Kevin Pickett & Southern Rain

Oklahoma has been known to produce some of the best music around these days and once again another promising band emerges from north of the Red River. Kevin Pickett & Southern Rain is quickly becoming a force on the Oklahoma/Texas music scene. Their latest release “New Tattoos”, which moves in and out of musical styles from country to southern rock to blues to bluegrass and back, is something fresh for red dirt fans of all kinds. With Oklahoma radio picking up “Garvin Co. Blues” and “Gettin’ Right” and shows reaching from Tulsa, OK into North and Central TX and everywhere in between, this band is sure to leave no one disappointed in a live performance. And, they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon, steps are already being taken by the band for a follow up to “New Tattoos” and possible tracks for their sophomore effort are being polished out live in Oklahoma and Texas every weekend. Kevin Pickett & Southern Rain is one band that you don’t want to miss. Period.

The 3 rockers were united by Four Count Records owner Mark Parker. They began rockin together for awhile and before too long the 3 began looking for a 4th rocker. They searched and searched and many rockers had come and gone but the 3 just couldn't seem to find the right 4th rocker. Meanwhile, Jason Qualls (aka Q / Optimus Rhyme) was playing guitar and singing in a band called Ninety and Nine where Flybone had previously donated some of his bass skillz for some recording and a few live shows. Even though Flybone wasn't donating bass skillz to the band anymore, Q and Flybone still kept in touch. Well, a few months down the road, Q's band split up. Q wanted to keep on rocking so he called up Flybone to see about maybe rockin together. Well, as the crazy force of music would have it, Flybone invited Q to come practice with them. After the first practice, it was a done deal. The final piece of the four-piece puzzle was placed to form the perfect picture of the ultimate rock band!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lauren Lee and Liberty Road are from Southeastern Oklahoma. Lauren (21) began playing fiddle at 13 and started singing at 17. She always had a desire to learn fiddle after discovering Alison Krauss at a young age. She learned all of the basics on her own by ear and 3 years into her playing, her music took a turn of a lifetime. She was introduced to Herman Johnson of Shawnee. Herman is a Master Fiddler who has won many competitions including National Championships.

Souled Out was formed in 1996 as a five member Christian band. Our mission was and has always been to see lives touched and changed through the power of God’s word in song. We take the words and music given to us by God through his perfect word, and blend it with a style that is accepted by varied ages of audiences.It is amazing how God can use something so simple to be the light in such a dark world. Each of us as a part of Souled Out has dedicated our lives to serving and glorifying our Father in Heaven. Through the use of music, the Holy spirit has moved upon legions of teens and adults alike, to break spirits and demolish strongholds which have long imprisoned society as we know it. For many die-hard Christians, much of the music offered the youth of America has fallen short to glorify the Father. But in a world of secular and dark music, many artists have been given the opportunity to let the light of God shine in its purest form. Souled Out is no different.
